Confirmed for North American release in time for the holiday season, which begins at the end of November in the US with their funny, turkey-loving Thanksgiving celebration, Microsoft say that European and Japanese gamers can also expect to get their hands on the Xbox 360 shortly after Americans. Some reports are already suggesting the the European release may follow the American by a matter of days, but, after bitter experience with the international roll-out of other consoles, we'll believe that one when we see it. Most of the information given during the MTV show had already been leaked, but we now have a much better idea of the brute power of the console. Powered by three 3.2Ghz PowerPC processors, the Xbox 360 should positively scream. Those fancy HDTV graphics will be generated by an ATI-made 500MHz processor with 10MB of embedded RAM. The 360 will also feature 512MB of built-in RAM which can be shared by the CPUs and the graphics card. Another snippet of new info is the confirmation that the controller will indeed be wireless, and that the Xbox 360 will use regular DVD media, rather than any of those fancy new formats like Blu-Ray and HD-DVD. The console also features built-in support for all the usual Wi-Fi standards, including 802.11g. The UK release date right now is 29/11/05 but it may change
